Is AION 2 Free to Play? Membership Cost and Server Rules
Global entry is free. Read the $14.99 membership’s Market access, server coverage and activation rules before spending or comparing old Founder’s Packs.
Global AION 2 is free to play with optional paid features. The updated official Special Quai Membership notice lists USD $14.99 for 30 days, covering characters on the server where it is purchased. Its Market table requires membership for both buying and selling; the period starts when you click Activate, not when you merely buy it.
What free entry includes—and what it does not
The Global FAQ describes free-to-play access with optional monthly membership, cosmetics and a Battle Pass. Free entry is distinct from access to the player economy. The current membership notice replaces the July $15 plan with a $14.99 product price, quoted in USD with other currencies subject to local conversion.

Choose the server before activating
- Select the Global region, faction and server where you intend to keep playing.
- Open In-Game Menu → Subscribe and read the Special Quai Membership details for that server.
- Compare the displayed currency, duration and whether you already have pack-included membership.
- Activate when you intend the 30-day period to start; verify the remaining duration in the Subscription screen.
- Before using another server, read its entitlement state rather than assuming membership follows every character.

The September 19 transition notice disables direct player-to-player trading and names the Market as the main hub. The updated membership table still includes personal-trade and World Market rows even though its update notes remove World Exchange. These texts conflict. This guide does not promise that direct trade or World Market is currently usable; check the active interface and a later clarification.

The captured official product notice ends pack sales October 5, 2026 at 08:00 PDT, already past at this October 7 review. These prices explain old entitlements; they are not a current “buy early access now” recommendation. No local tax, checkout, refund or purchase delivery was tested.
Evaluate a pay-to-win claim concretely
- Separate the free login price from paid Market/exchange access and reward options.
- Compare the mode you actually play, the product benefit and the same progression stage.
- If you intend to sell an item, inspect its binding, listed price, deductions and expiry in the actual Market.
- Measure the displayed net amount rather than assuming a fee or converting paid economy access into a universal combat-power verdict.
